Dear distinguished guests and colleagues and friends,
It is a great honor and pleasure to host the long-established and prestigious meeting of 14th Annual Conference of the Asia Pacific Cervical Spine Society (APCSS 2020), which will take place in Osaka, Japan on November 13-14, 2020.

APCSS is founded in 2007 as a collaborative organization of spine surgeons and professionals specialized in cervical spine, with a primary interest in advancing excellence in spine patient care, research and education, in Asia Pacific region. The society has been planning and aiming to stimulate new techniques for the treatment of cervical spine diseases that would be beneficial for the spine surgeons. Another mission of the society is consolidation of the lasting friendship among the members of each country.

APCSS 2020 in Osaka will be organized around the theme ''Technological Innovation and Future in Cervical Spine Surgery", and we will share and exchange our tradition and innovation. The conference holds it jointly with The 82nd Society for Kinki Spinal Surgery. Two societies cooperate and conduct the conference. On behalf of the APCSS 2020 committee, we are pleased to invite you to join the upcoming conference.

Osaka is Japan's third-largest city, and the metropolis of the Kansai region. Osaka is a port city, and historically the merchant capital of Japan. Also, Osaka is gourmet city, and has long identified itself by kuidaore ("ruinous eating") as opposed to Kyoto's kidaore ("ruinous dressing"). Visitors will appreciate the more neighborly ethos of Osaka, in contrast to the mind-your-own-business mood of Tokyo.

In closing, I would be pleased and honored if you would participate at the conference. Osaka is about to get ready for you all. We would like prepare Nara-sightseeing tour as well. We sincerely look forward to welcoming you in Osaka in the colorful autumn of 2020.

It will be an honor for us to welcome you in Istanbul for the “8th Asia Pacific Cervical Spine Meeting”. The main goal of the APCSS Meeting will be to pave the way for a scientific environment where recent developments in cervical spine are reviewed, the results of research are discussed and ideas are exchanged. We will also be discussing the regional and global aspects of social, political and economic issues related to spine surgery. We look forward to an exciting meeting where many new discoveries will be presented and challenging discussions on current controversies will take place.

The meeting venue, Barbaros Point Hotel, is located at the heart of the city where business, cultural, gastronomic and commercial districts present. We will do our best to ensure that the social program will be as impressive as the scientific program. Because of its location, infrastructure and the facilities it provides, we believe that the Barbaros Point Hotel will be the right choice of venue for social activities as well.

Istanbul is the only city in the world built on two continents. It stands on the shores of the uniquely appealing Bosphorus strait (Istanbul Bogazi) where the waters of the Black Sea intersect with those of the Sea of Marmara and the Golden Horn estuary.

Istanbul is a city meant to be a capital and has indeed been the capital of three great empires Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman which dominated the world. The city is also a meeting place of people from many different religions and cultures who come together and live in peace. Today, it houses the precious remains of these civilizations and stands with all her glamour and mysticism as a harmonious link between east and west, antique and modern. It is one of the most outstanding, enchanting and lively cities of the world. Furthermore, it has an atmosphere of its own with its life-style, people and numerous attractions.

We are sure that Istanbul will be an excellent venue for the APCSS 2014 and will endow us with many precious and long-lasting memories to cherish.

We look forward to seeing you in Istanbul in 2014

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

It’s our great honor and pleasure to invite you to participate the 7th annual meeting of Asia-Pacific Cervical Spine Society 2013, August 22-23 in Sapporo. This meeting was established by Dr. D. H. Yoon in 2007, and was greatly developed with participants from many Asian countries. The meeting venues in the past were Seoul, Beijing, Sydney, Bali and Chiang Mai. Recently our international executive committee covers 16 countries of Asian countries. This is our first opportunity to welcome APCSS members and participants to Japan.

This meeting is essentially composed of neurosurgeons and orthopedic surgeons for the purpose of mutual understanding and exchanging concepts and ideas of spinal surgery of each society. We believe you will be able to learn lessons of spinal surgery from both societies. With the aging of our society, spinal surgery becomes more and more important to maintain the quality of life among the elderly people. Therefore, we need more discussion about indications, techniques, and surgical outcome about spinal surgery.

Minimally invasive spinal surgery is global trend, and variety of surgical tools and techniques have been introduced. We are sure that we will know the standard spinal surgery with future trend at the end of the meeting.

In addition to the academic aspects, this meeting has another important purpose to make friendship among all Asian countries. It is good to know many new friends and deepen the relationship of old friends through the meeting. Sapporo in this particular time is wonderful. It is sunny and breezy. You may enjoy several kinds of outdoor activities and sightseeing.

We will prepare for the fruitful scientific programs for all the participants. We hope we will receive many interesting abstracts from you. We are looking forward to seeing you in Sapporo in August 2013.
